Ayios Epifaneios Life

Ayios Epifaneios grew up in a poor family in the village of Visaudouki near the area of Elefteroupoli in Palestine (310 A.D). His Jew parents were poor farmers. After his parents’ death, he was drawn to Christianity by two famous for their knowledge and asceticism monks, Loukianos and Ilarionas.

He went to live in the deserts with the spiritual Pillar Saints of Palestine. There he learned a lot about theology. His virtue made him become Epifaneios Bishop of Constantia in Cyprus. Since then he had fought against the heresies of his time and for the continuance of Christianity.

Epifaneios died after a prelacy of 36 years and after leaving behind his work against heresy.
