The Dam of Anarita or else the Dam of Asprokremmos as it is also known is located on the eastern side of the community. It is the second largest dam in Cyprus with a capacity of 52 million cubic metres and it was built in the 1980s on river Xeropotamos.

What is also worth mentioning is that the Water Dam of Asprokremmos was built as part of the Irrigation Scheme of Pafos which aimed at exploiting the water resources of the Pafos District and the development of agriculture by providing water to the entire coastal valley starting from Chapotami and up to Agios Georgios Pegeias.

The Water Dam of Asprokremmos overflowed in 2012 causing the enthusiasm of the residents of Anarita and of the surrounding villages who rushed to witness the sight of the overflowing dam which was characterized by many as spectacular. In fact, the water-flow from the dam was so strong that it forced the district engineer of the Water Development Department to advise the flocking crowd who had come to admire this unique sight not to approach the banks of the dam and the river nor climb the various constructions. Finally, it is noteworthy that the previous overflow of the dam had occurred back in 2004.
